Situated on the cliff tops overlooking the village of Runswick Bay, Cliffemount will be a popular choice for those looking to experience the beauty of the North Yorkshire Coast. With 20 sea view rooms, a pub, bar and restaurant, it will appeal to both existing and new visitors of Runswick Bay, as well as residents of the surrounding villages.

Combining luxury with rustic character, Cliffemount has been designed with inspiration from the neighbouring coast and villages. This theme will run through into the food and drinks menus too, with a variety of classic and seasonal dishes set to be served in the restaurant, as well as real ales being on tap in the pub.

All of this coupled with its location means that Cliffemount will be an ideal place for both long and short breaks.

About Us

Sustainability without compromising on quality or design

Sustainability is at the forefront of Cliffemount’s design. Why? Because not only do we care about the environment, but we are aiming for Cliffemount to become the UK’s first hotel to receive Passivhaus accreditation.

To do this, we must adhere to strict standards set by the Passivhaus Trust. This is why the first phase of our project saw the old Cliffemount Hotel building demolished. The demolition has paved the way for us to build Cliffemount in the environmentally friendly way we’ve committed to.

Whilst a date for phase two of the project – the build – hasn’t been announced, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes.
